Habanero Orange chiles are a little slower to germinate than many others, but this chile variety is worth the wait as it is 40 times hotter than a standard Jalapeno Pepper! A producer of light green, thin, crinkled peppers which ripen to a brilliant orange-red coloration (85-95 days), each chile pepper is around 1½ inches long by about 1 inch across. This variety is dangerously hot and not for the faint hearted, tipping in at an eye watering 200,000 - 300,000 scoville heat units.

This elongated Red Habanero type is renowned for its mouth-blistering heat. The plants are relatively compact & sprawling compared to other Habanero varieties and produce excellent ylelds of 3 in x 1 in pendant shaped fruits which ripen from lime green to a bright iridescent scarlet red approximately 90 days after transplanting. The Paper Lantern is heavier yielding than other habanero's.

This original taste bud assasin is not for the faint hearted as it can reach a blistering 285,000 scoville units, which makes it one of the hottest chiles available, around 40 times hotter than the Jalapeno! Habanero plants grow up to 36" tall and produce enormous amounts of lantern-shaped 1" by 1½" wrinkled pods.The pods of thie variety ripen from light green to an iridescent bright red (90-100 days). Not as lethally hot as as the Caribbean Red, but a worthy competitor!

The Red Savina Habanero was reputed to be the worlds hottest Chile pepper weighs in at a whooping 577,000 Scoville Units!!! (thats before the Naga Morich/Dorset Naga came long). Its is also the first habanero to receive USDA plant-protection certificate.. At around 50 times as hot as a Jalapeno, it is one of the prime ingredients in the manufacture of the disabling Pepper spray used by Police forces around the world. Extreme caution must be taken when handling this pepper which has been known to blister sensitive skin. These firebombs grow on medium sized 2-3ft plants, with each plant producing up to 50 bright red coloured wrinkled fruits which reach maturity approx 100 days after transplanting.
