Jalapeno M (also called Jalapeno Jumbo or Jalapeno Santiago) is the most popular chile variety grown in Mexico and is widely used in Tex-Mex cooking, as well as for pckling purposes. These dark green chiles mature to a fiery scarlet red color and grow up to 3 inches in length with a typical Jalapeno shape, but is slightly larger than the standard Jalapeno. Approximately 3500 to 6000 scoville units. Very similar (if not the same as) Jalapeno Grande.

An F1 hybridised early Jalapeno M type that produces exceptional yields of very uniform large fruit. This large upright plant produces continuous sets of 3in long bullet shaped fruits which mature from green to red (65 days). Approximately 4000 to 6000 scoville heat units (SHU)

JALAPENO MUCHO NACHO

This is a hybridised jumbo jalapeno variety that issaid to be not only longer than the standard jalapeno, but also wider, heavier, and with hotter fruits. The plants are said to be very vigorous and excellent producers of 4 inch long peppers which ripen from green to red approximately 75 days after transplanting .

Also developed by Drs. Bosland and Votava of the NMSU in 1997, NuMex Pinata is a multicolored jalapeno. The fruit changes from bright green to bright yellow then to orange and finally to red, it could become a favorite to home gardeners who want colorful salsa.

Developed by Dr. Bosland and his team of research specialists at the NMSU in 1997 This is a "No Spice" Jalapeno that has all of the flavor of a traditional jalapeno, but only 1/10 the heat of a regular jalapeno. NuMex primavera is a high yielding cultivar.
